Law Enforcement Liaison

FDOT District 7 (West Central Florida)

About the District 7 Law Enforcement Liaison:

The District 7 Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) supports approximately 43 law enforcement agencies across seven West Central Florida counties to strengthen and enhance traffic safety initiatives. They are responsible for promoting and implementing high-visibility enforcement campaigns, coordinating public safety and press events, leading training sessions and Local Area Network (LAN) meetings, and providing guidance to agencies in securing and managing traffic safety grants. They also facilitate the exchange of critical information, including officer training, crash data and trends, checkpoint planning, and legal updates. Additionally, they are involved in coordinating the Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge and evaluating agency contributions to traffic safety through policies, education, and enforcement.

The District 7 LEL serves on one or more of Florida's traffic safety coalitions and provides support to Community Traffic Safety Teams (CTSTs) across the district.

Please contact Coordinator Tim Roberts at [email protected] or (850) 694-1130 with any District 7 LEL needs.
