Operation Southern Slow Down Speed Enforcement Initiative

The 2024 Operation Southern Slow Down wave is a traffic safety initiative designed to unify all of Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama public safety agencies and partners, leveraging a longstanding tradition of collaboration. This initiative is aimed at reducing the high number of speed-related fatality and serious injury crashes on Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Alabama roadways by targeting speeding and aggressive drivers on our roadways.

The Florida law enforcement initiative will begin with multiple press conferences in media markets across the state on July 15, 2024. The speed enforcement mobilization will run through July 19, 2024.
