On this page, you can find links to our traffic safety partners and their events. We encourage law enforcement traffic safety professionals to focus on safety and build skills to better perform their duties. Such events focus not only on improving traffic safety skills, but also promote public safety while responding to traffic incidents.
If you are aware of a local event you would like to share, please contact your District Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL). These events need
to be safety-focused, not-for-profit, and focused on our law enforcement and traffic safety partners in Florida. Ongoing events will remain posted throughout the year to serve as a reminder and
allow traffic safety partners to plan and budget for future training opportunities and participation.
-“If Better Is Possible, Good Is Not Enough” Quote, Benjamin Franklin. This embodies the mindset; we are not accepting the status quo and are working to save lives and reduce serious injury crashes in FL.
-Arrive Alive Tag: Every traveler’s goal; is positioned on the opposite side of the roadway. Separating one from the bad behaviors indicated on side A of the spinner reminds us that we are not only in control of safety in our vehicle/lane but also those around us on the roadways.
-Don’t Drink, Text, or be distracted and drive; major contributors to crashes in need of our attention. Note the use of the seatbelt locking down/banning these poor behaviors, to help “secure safety” on our roadways.
-spinner location: intended to represent staying within one’s lane / the viewer can envision themselves on the roadway and be reminded what not to do, so other travelers can arrive alive.
-Drive safe highway marker. This reminds us, too many of our friends and family are taken from us and emphasize the need to “Drive safely” as we work towards creating safer roads.
-The coin is outlined with gear notches representing a historical tie to early auto clubs in America when club badges were displayed on cars signifying like-minded travelers. This is done to recognize the early contributions of the AAA auto club which fought for better roads and safer highways for the public in the early days of the automobile over 100 years ago.
-The AAA logo signifies the partnership with AAA Florida which continues to collaborate on traffic safety and sponsored this award.
-“Guardian of Life” acknowledges the continued dedication to traffic safety and our recipients working to save lives on our FL roadways.
-Mirror side of the spinner. This in conjunction with “And You…” notes the recipient’s partnership with those noted in recognition of their contribution to traffic safety.
-Badges & Logos are used to represent our traffic safety partners and their contributions to improving safety on our roadways, saving lives, and being part of the solution.
-The sequential numbering at the bottom indicates these awards are of a limited nature, and not given as a tchotchke. Each recipient of our award is part of a special dedicated group who are united in a common goal, traffic safety and saving lives.
Note: The Guardian of Life award is given in recognition of those traffic safety partners and community members who take a proactive approach towards promoting a safer driving experience on our roadways. The Guardian of Life award is intended for specific articulable efforts to promote safe roadways, educate drivers, engage teen drivers and their parents in traffic safety, or focus on improving local community traffic safety concerns. Recipients may have their awards highlighted on social media to recognize those who make a difference in traffic safety. This award focuses on encouraging everyone to be mindful of our duties to promote the safe use of our Florida roadways. Nominees are provided through existing traffic safety partnerships and those selected to receive this award will be contacted.
