Tim Roberts
Coordinator
Florida Law Enforcement Liaison Program
About the Coordinator:
Tim Roberts began his law enforcement career in 1987 with the Hall County Sheriff’s Department in Georgia. He later became the first Law Enforcement Coordinator for the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. In 2013, Tim returned to his home state of Florida and joined the Florida Law Enforcement Liaison (LEL) Program.
As the Coordinator, Tim oversees statewide planning and execution of the Florida LEL Program. He provides leadership and strategic guidance to the LEL team, ensuring consistency and coordination across all seven districts.
Tim supports the LEL team’s efforts to promote and implement high visibility enforcement campaigns, including Click It or Ticket, Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over, Operation Southern Slow Down, and Hands Across the Border. He regularly leads meetings with the team and supports the organization of traffic safety programs, public safety and press events, training sessions, and Local Area Network (LAN) meetings. He also assists in guiding law enforcement agencies through the process of securing and managing traffic safety grants and oversees the exchange of critical information, including crash data trends, officer training, checkpoint planning, and legal updates.
Additionally, Tim leads the coordination of the Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge, including the evaluation of agency contributions to traffic safety through policy, education, and enforcement. He also serves on Florida’s traffic safety coalitions and provides support to Community Traffic Safety Teams (CTSTs) across the state.
