About the Campaign

Click It or Ticket is a national high-visibility enforcement campaign focused on the consequences of not wearing a safety belt. The goal is to increase awareness and encourage all drivers and passengers to buckle up—every trip, every time.

Florida law enforcement agencies are encouraged to conduct high-visibility enforcement and public education on safety belt and child restraint laws. Agencies should submit a campaign activity report at the end of the campaign.

This is a reportable campaign. Reports will be due by June 30, 2025, and may be submitted below or by clicking here.

How To Participate

Florida law enforcement agencies are encouraged to:

  • Enhance enforcement and public education on safety belt use during the campaign period.
  • Submit a campaign activity report by June 30, 2025.

The report will collect the following:

  • Approximate number of hours dedicated to safety belt enforcement
  • Number of safety belt checkpoints (if any)
  • Number of press conferences (if any)
  • Number of media stories or articles featuring your agency’s efforts
  • Number of social media posts or interactions
  • Number of safety belt enforcement contacts
  • Number of child restraint enforcement contacts
  • Total number of traffic citations
  • Name of exemplary officer for education and/or enforcement efforts
  • Results of the Local Safety Belt Use Survey (see below)

As part of the campaign, agencies are also asked to conduct a Local Safety Belt Use Survey before and after the campaign period:

  • Observe at least 100 drivers and front passengers at a minimum of three different locations within your jurisdiction, both before and after the campaign.
  • Calculate the usage rate for each location:
  • (Number of occupants wearing seat belts ÷ Total occupants observed) × 100
  • Average the usage rates from all three locations to determine your agency’s final percentage.
  • An optional worksheet is available for download to assist with tracking and calculations. This form is for internal use and does not need to be submitted.
